Annual Rose Show

The Society was very pleased to be invited to the garden of our President Christine Brown and her husband Albert, in Pudding Lane , on the evening of 26^th June for our Annual Rose Show.  Several members had been in that garden many years previous for the same event, and we were shocked to see how much larger all those trees had now grown!     We were fortunate to have very pleasant sunny weather although it was rather breezy , which seems to be characteristic of our current summer ! Among the lovely borders and trees we relaxed with drinks and snacks, with much conversation. Members had struggled to some extent, to find suitable roses to enter due to the earliness of blooming this year and the recent strong winds which had torn some apart. However we still ended up with many entries and an impressive display.

The judging was kindly carried out by our host , Christine Brown.

Overall winners for Rose Classes were : 1^st Mary Evans  2^nd Sarah Maulden  3^rd Julie Waller .

Class 2              Floribunda Roses:  1^st  Sam Mackay  2^nd Sharon Kerry  3^rd Sarah Moulden

Class 3              Species Roses :  No entries

Class 4              Specimen Rose :  1^st Kathy Mills 2^nd Kim Mallinson 3^rd Mary Evans

Class 5              Scented Roses :  1^st Julie Waller  2^nd Sarah Moulden  3^rd Mary Evans
